Puer – Oxygen stain remover and bleaching powder | Tierra Verde

Keeps your whites white without chemical optical brighteners and chlorine bleach. PUER is also excellent for soaking and removing of stains from colourfast laundry. It will also replace aggressive drain cleaners of sinks, bathtubs, showers and toilets.

What It Is, How It Works

Puer or sodium percarbonate is washing soda (sodium carbonate) enriched with oxygen. When activated by warm water, oxygen is released and forms hydrogen peroxide which is known for its bleaching effects (brightens dingy whites, prevents greying of linen). With a lot of fizzing and foaming, Puer breaks down into soda, water and oxygen, so it is completely biodegradable and suitable for water purifiers or septic tanks. These little white beads will make both laundry and cleaning a breeze. They are simply brilliant.

To make Puer work properly, use it with hot water at a minimum temperature of 55 °C. The powder will not dissolve and activate in cold water.

What to use it for

Laundry

• Machine washing of cloth diapers, white and light laundry:  Add 1-2 table spoons of PUER powder into the main compartment together with your usual washing detergent
• Pre-soaking of stained diapers and laundry (white or colourfast):  Dissolve 1-2 table spoons in ca 10 litres of hot water (about 60°C, not boiling water). Soak the stained laundry for several hours or overnight. Suitable for organic stains (sweat, grease, blood, wine, grass, dirt, ink).

Cleaning 

• Toilet cleaning:  Pour a  kettle of hot water into  a bowl and add 1-2 tablespoons of Puer powder. Wait at least 10 minutes for it to dissolve, then wash the bowl with a  toilet brush. If limescale has settled in your toilet, let the powder work overnight and add a  spoon of  Descaler  or half a  cup of warm vinegar to increase the cleaning effect. Repeat the procedure if needed. 
• Cleaning of sinks, tubs and showers:  Pour 1-2 tablespoons of Puer powder into the drain and add a  cup of warm vinegar. Vinegar with powder forms a  foam and dissolves greasy deposits. Leave on for at least 15 minutes and then rinse with warm water.
